Biography

Moving back to the mountains has been a long time goal for Dr. Atkins. In her mid 20’s she worked as a professional ski patroller at Copper Mountain and as an instructor for the Colorado Outward Bound School. She developed a passionate interest in mountain and wilderness medicine that eventually led her to pursue medicine as a career.

Dr. Atkins moved to the Vail Valley from Boulder. Fortunate to have worked in such a health-minded community, her practice style has grown to be very integrative and holistic, pulling from the best of both classic western and complimentary/alternative methods whenever possible. She enjoys working with patients of all ages, particularly adolescents, to help them optimize their health and performance through nutrition, exercise, life-style choices and stress-management.
