{"id":321,"date":"2026-04-20T16:14:05","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T16:14:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cmmhealth.org\/services\/ophthalmology\/"},"modified":"2026-06-02T17:43:38","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T17:43:38","slug":"ophthalmology","status":"publish","type":"service","link":"https:\/\/www.cmmhealth.org\/es\/services\/ophthalmology\/","title":{"rendered":"Ophthalmology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The practice of Ophthalmology specializes in the diagnosis, medical treatment, and surgical care of diseases and conditions affecting the eyes and visual system. &nbsp;Ophthalmologists deliver total eye care and are uniquely trained to provide management of medical eye diseases and are surgical experts who can perform laser procedures, and microsurgery. &nbsp;As specialty-licensed medical professionals, ophthalmologists have a minimum of eight years of medical training.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Colorado Mountain Medical, we care for patients with cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, dry eye, eyelid disorders, injuries, and many other conditions affecting vision and eye health. &nbsp;Our practice combines comprehensive ophthalmic care with advanced surgical expertise. While we provide routine and medical eye care, we also focus on surgical ophthalmology, including cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, premium lens implantation, LASIK and refractive surgery, glaucoma surgery, and other vision-restoring procedures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ophthalmology clinic at Colorado Mountain Medical is fully equipped with extensive technology to detect, diagnose and treat most eye conditions. Additionally, we have ophthalmic lasers for many eye procedures in the clinic in Avon. We also provide most intraocular surgeries in the surgery center in Edwards.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does insurance work?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At our ophthalmology practice, we bill medical insurance for visits and treatments related to eye health and medical conditions affecting the eyes, such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes-related eye disease, infections, injuries, and other medical concerns. We do not participate with vision insurance plans, which are typically used for routine vision exams and eyewear benefits.
