Gigi Dawood began her career as a unit secretary in Elmhurst, Illinois in the early 90’s. She went on to complete her nurses aid certification, followed by completing her BSN in 1993. Dr. Dawood then completed her medical training at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999. She completed her internship, residency and fellowship with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is currently working towards her MA in Humanitarian and Disaster Leadership.
Dr. Dawood was named a Castle Connolly regional top doctor and is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, she is also a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE). She has worked for many hospitals around the country but has a special place in her heart for Colorado. She was part of the Colorado Springs Health Partners from 2009-2011 where she had a Single Endocrinology practice. Dr. Dawood returned to Colorado again from 2015-2018 where she worked for Centura-Mercury Regional Medical Center in Durango and established the first and only endocrinology clinic within the rural area.
