Biography

Dr. Kirsten Cooper is a Sport Psychology and Performance Optimization Postdoctoral Fellow. She earned her BA in physiology at the University of Colorado Boulder, her MA in sport and performance psychology at the University of Denver, and her PsyD in clinical psychology at the University of Denver. She completed her doctoral internship at the University of Northern Colorado Counseling Center and Athletics Department. She is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology and is currently working toward psychology licensure in Colorado. She has presented at national conferences on the integration of mindfulness and acceptance into sport and performance environments as integral components to well-being and high performance. Her previous professional experiences include working as a student sport psychology consultant doing biofeedback and neurofeedback with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, as well as training in neuropsychological assessment, group therapy, working with injured and retiring athletes, and performance enhancement. Outside of work, Dr. Cooper enjoys being outside with friends and family, golfing, skiing, mountain biking, skinning, and fly fishing.
