Colorado Mountain Medical’s obstetrics and gynecology team offers ZyMōt IUI fertility treatment to help increase the likelihood of pregnancy. Intrauterine insemination, or IUI, is a type of artificial insemination in which sperm is placed directly into the uterus, where it has a better chance of reaching an egg and achieving fertilization.
Many women who are having difficulty getting pregnant choose to have an IUI fertility treatment or treatments before trying in vitro fertilization, or IVF, because the IUI process is less complex, less invasive and less expensive than IVF.
In a ZyMōt IUI fertility treatment, sperm are collected and concentrated using a ZyMōt device to help identify the most motile sperm. The ZyMōt process makes use of sperm’s natural swimming ability to help ensure that these sperm come in contact with an egg, increasing the chance of a successful pregnancy.
