COVID-19: Current Information
MASK REQUIREMENTS
Vail Health does not require patients, visitors or staff to wear masks within our facilities and clinic locations. Masks are recommended at the Shaw Cancer Center facilities for all patients that are unvaccinated for the COVID-19 virus and/or are experiencing symptoms of any respiratory illness. Individuals are encouraged to wear masks as they see appropriate within their own comfort level, including:
- You have any respiratory symptoms.
- You have been recently exposed to a respiratory illness.
- You are not up-to-date on recommended vaccinations.
- You are immunocompromised.
COVID Vaccine Information
As of September 11, 2023 CMM is pausing the administering COVID-19 injections as we await the new approved vaccines which are designed to protect against the latest coronavirus strains and blunt any surge this fall and winter. When we receive the new, updated formulations we will update this site with more information.
Testing if You're Significantly Sick
COVID-19 Testing for Illness (Not for Travel)
If you are sick, please schedule a doctor appointment with your primary care physician at Colorado Mountain Medical. They can provide COVID-19 testing (if needed) as well as help manage your symptoms. You may also visit one of our urgent care locations.

Coloradans can find free or low-cost tests at community testing sites, pharmacies, and rapid test distribution centers. These locations are displayed on the Colorado COVID testing site map.
Isolation and Precautions for People with COVID-19
Regardless of vaccination status, you should isolate from others when you have COVID-19. You should also isolate if you are sick and suspect that you have COVID-19 but do not yet have test results. If your results are positive, follow the full isolation recommendations. If your results are negative, you can end your isolation.
